Clinic format: submit three sentences 24 hours ahead. I pick four to six for what they teach the room. Eight minutes each. No open floor, no round-robin status.

Ran a 40-person R&D organization at SAS behind a roughly $100M product portfolio, owning SAS Enterprise Guide and the Add-In for Microsoft Office. At Tableau, as Director of Analytic Product Management, I conceived and led the native forecasting engine with Rob Hyndman; the capability later reached millions of users.
UXWrote the standard
Author of The Accidental Analyst and Rapid Graphs with Tableau. Pat Hanrahan, Tableau co-founder and 2019 Turing Award recipient, built a conference keynote around The Accidental Analyst and said it changed how he taught analytics at Stanford. I worked beside Tableau's own research and UX teams from ideation through implementation, and beside UX at FanAI on self-service exploration. I have not held a design title. I have spent twenty years working directly with UX teams from product definition through implementation.
QA and Test8 years under FDA
I started in clinical trials at GSK, Takeda, and Oracle Clinical, where "how do you know it is right" is a regulatory requirement rather than a ticket. At IMS Health I tested SAS/PH-Clinical and filed the structured feedback. At SAS I pulled QA into requirements at inception instead of at the end. Today that is labeled benchmarks, failure matrices, and confidence calibration on model output. Same discipline, new object.
Back endSince 1994
Enterprise data warehouses at Takeda, Loudcloud/Opsware, and Navy Cyber Defense, the last under Top Secret clearance. The Snowflake platform behind Canada's roughly $2.7 billion linear television advertising market, including 60-day half-hourly forecasting across about 320 stations. Python, SQL, R, APIs, Docker, cloud deployment, and the cost-sensitive model routing, cross-provider verification, and final verification architecture inside 77 Rules.
Front endThe past decade
Production R Shiny and Streamlit applications: server architecture, authentication, payments, performance tuning, and deployment. 77 Rules is mine end to end, including the review surface a person actually touches to inspect findings, reject the ones that do not fit, correct, and rerun. This is my thinnest seat of the five and I will say so in Week 5.

Not exercises. By Week 6 you hold a decision map, control map, acceptance set, contracts, failure matrix, and handoff plan for the thing you are already paid to build.

One sentence that names the blocker

You will be able to say which production decision is still unsupported by evidence, who owns it, and what happens if nobody makes it.

Make the case in the language of the room

Argue the same point in Product language, QA language, UX language, or architecture language, depending on who is in front of you.

This attaches to the system your team is already responsible for. Every document your engineer produces lands on your work, not on a case study.

It costs 7.5 required hours

Six Mondays at 75 minutes. The Wednesday clinics are optional and add up to six more hours if they use them. Less than one conference, no travel, and every session is recorded so a sprint emergency does not cost the seat.

You find out early if it should stop

Week 1 asks whether the problem deserves a system at all. That is the highest-value outcome in the program.

It de-risks the pilot you cannot evaluate

If you cannot personally judge whether the AI project is production-ready, this puts someone who can in the room for six weeks, at a fraction of what that judgment costs privately.

Founding cohort

Ten seats for the founding cohort.

Cohort 1 is capped at 10 seats so I can stay close to every project. In exchange I ask for a written assessment at the end.

Admission requirement: you must be actively building an AI or data system at work. Without one, Weeks 3 through 6 have nothing to operate on.

What this is not: not a coding course, not implementation help, no certificate. In Production Handoff, I teach and review the production decisions while you own the build. If you want YakData to define, architect, and build the first working version for your organization, that is a private Forward Deployment engagement.
